2 New Degrees being offered by University of Sydney

From the start of 2019 the University of Sydney will be offering 2 new degrees:
Students will be taught at the University’s campuses, and will also include some contact hours at the Taronga Institute of Science & Learning, a purpose-built research and education centre on site at Taronga Zoo Sydney, opened last month by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, the Taronga Institute will form a gateway for students to access the wider Zoo campus, providing authentic, interactive opportunities in an environment of working science.

2018 Beyond School Study Guide

Please see attached the 2018 Beyond School Study Guide. The Guide has been developed by the Australian Government as a resource to assist year 10-12 students figure out what type of study they can undertake to achieve their career goals and what financial assistance they can access on the way.

Master Builders ACT - Open Day

Master Builders ACT will be opening its doors on Saturday 24th August, 10am - 2pm. The day will showcase MBAs facilities and you will have the opportunity to listen to a range of knowledgable guest speakers. This event is being held at:

Teach NSW Scholarships are now open!

Teach.NSW Scholarship programs, for the next generation of high-quality teachers, are now open! 

They have pre-service scholarship programs, targeting high achieving HSC students, offering a range of financial benefits and a guaranteed permanent teaching postion in an agreed location upon graduation. 

Scholarships include:

UNSW Canberra @ ADFA Open Day

During the ADFA Open Day on Saturday 24th August, UNSW Canberra will be hosting a VIP STEM lunch for future undergraduate students interested in STEM studies as a non-Defence, civilian student. Students and their families are all welcome. The lunch is from 12pm - 2pm in Seminar Room 06 (SR06) between building 30 and 32. Academic and current non-Defence undergrad students will be available to share their experiences, as well as answer any queries you may have regarding studying as a non-Defence student at UNSW Canberra. University of New England - Early Entry program

Based on Karabar High School recommending your suitability, the University of New England will guarantee you an offer to start university in 2020.

How Does the Guarantee work?

You are able to choose up to 3 course preferences in UNE's free online application. Karabar High School's recommendation combined with academic performance will determine the best offer of a university place. ATARs are not required.

UNE guarantees an offer to every student, in not for one of their 3 preferences then for an alternative course to ensure you have the best chance of success. Alternative offers may be for another degree, diploma or the Pathway Enabling Course. The Pathways course is free and will build your study skills and capability to get into a course of choice.

You will receive your offer directly from UNE in November. A UNE Direct Early Entry application does not exclude students from applying through UAC or to any other university, but offers a valuable guarantee of a university place.

Benefits of UNE Direct Early Entry:

- Open to all Year 12 students

- Apply directly to UNE online

- Free to apply

- ATAR is not required

- Most course can be deferred for up to 2 years

- Study fully online options available for most courses

- Study on-campus options available for most courses with affordable accommodation

  • Study on-campus options available for most courses with affordable accommodation in our on-campus residential system.

UOW Early Admission - Now OPEN!

UOW Early Admission program is now open! You can start your application by going to this link. All applicants will be required to answer 4 questions pertaining to the UOW Indicators of Success which will demonstrate applicants' passion and dedication for tertiary study. These questions are: 


Academic Readiness - What are your study strategies for the HSC exams? 

Motivation and Passion - Why do you want to study at UOW? 

Communication and Collaboration - Describe a time when you worked with others to achieve a goal

Planning and Persistence - How do you manage your time around your studies and other activities? Include 3 strategies that you've used in Year 12 to prioritise tasks and organise your time. 


Responses need to be a minimum 100 characters and a maximum of 500 characters. 

Once you have submitted your application you will be able to amend it up until 5pm on the 30th August.

Casual Job Opportunity

?€‹Attention year 11 and 12 studentsAre you a leader who can motivate, energise and feel comfortable in front of a group of people?. If so we would like to hear from you! We are looking for casual staff to join our tennis coaching team which could also lead to part-time or full-time work in the future. Coaches would work with small groups of kids running tennis drills, improving their techniques and playing games. They would also have the opportunity to assist with or run children's tennis parties and 'Glow in the Dark' tennis discos. Some tennis experience would be helpful but not essential as we will train the right person. Please email Ben at€‹
